Business casual wear is a kind of office dress style, which is more casual than traditional business dress. Many employers use it to try to make employees feel more comfortable at work and have more opportunities to express themselves through their clothes. However, although business casual wear is casual, it does not mean that it can be casual. In this paper, men and women's different business casual wear requirements, do a detailed summary.

        1、 Men's business casual wear

Choose a shirt with a collar, such as a button down collar with long sleeves. Tuck your shirt into your pants and match it with a proper belt. Since it's business casual wear, you don't need to wear a tie. Polo shirt and golf shirt are OK. The white button down collar shirt is the most formal and therefore the most secure. Unlike pants, shirts are available in a variety of colors: purple, pink, yellow, blue and red. Choose "formal" fabrics for shirts and pants: cotton is king, catering to everyone's tastes. Wool will do, as long as it doesn't itch. Silk, rayon, flax all make people frown. Choose "formal" patterns for pants: Oxford, plaid, and cotton, although not very formal, but also completely acceptable. Twill, herringbone and suede are more regular. If they are well managed, they are all good choices. Hawaiian wind and other patterns are considered too casual.

The style and fabric of pants should be khaki, trousers, trousers and wicker pants. Jeans don't count as business leisure. Pleated pants and dark colors are more formal and conservative choices. To be on the safe side, it's better to dress well than to be too plain. The length of the trousers should extend to the top of the shoes or slightly longer. If the trousers do not reach the shoes, they will feel as if they are pulled up for fear of getting wet; on the contrary, if they are stacked at the ankles, they will be considered too loose and sluggish. In terms of color, too bright colors such as red, yellow or purple should be avoided. Camouflage pants are not allowed, and white is not allowed. Even for business casual wear, white is too informal. It's right to stick to black, brown, grey, khaki, dark blue and dark green.

Consider matching the shirt with a sweater or vest. A V-Neck Sweater is best matched with a collar shirt. If you wear a high collar sweater inside, you can match it with a casual suit coat, which is clean and fashionable. If you want to wear a suit coat while still maintaining a business casual style, you can match it with khaki pants instead of suit pants. Choose formal leather shoes and don't forget to wear dress socks. The color of shoes is black, brown, or gray. There are no lace up shoes and shoes.

Here are the notes. The following clothes are not for business and leisure, and should be avoided: sports shoes, sandals, slippers or other open toe shoes. Sportswear, sports pullovers, sports jackets, sports socks, shorts and Capris, jeans, tight and exposed pants. Tight pants are absolutely taboo, not even for Europeans

        2、 Women's business casual wear

A skirt is acceptable as long as the hem is longer than the knee. As the saying goes: caution is heroic, not to mention the obvious gender characteristics of women's bodies, so we should try to avoid distracting tailoring. Like men's, black and gray are more formal and safe choices. Avoid low cut or high cut skirts. Avoid tight (especially) dresses and skirts. Loose cut doesn't mean it's not classy. Avoid sling skirts.

Choose khaki, corduroy, linen or suit pants. A pair of appropriate pants and a beautiful shirt are definitely the classic of women's business casual wear. Avoid wearing jeans unless otherwise specified. If your employer allows jeans, you should also avoid hippie style, ripped and "boyfriend" baggy jeans. Women's trousers should usually be loose and sagging, avoiding tight pants. Neutral color is the best choice.

Choose a variety of shirts. Women have more choices in shirts than men. Style should be conservative and not too revealing. It's better to be dull and stereotyped than to be too sexy. Women's shirts, plain shirts, cotton shirts, knitwear, turtleneck sweaters, vests and sleeveless shirts are all acceptable. The shirt can be tied into the bottom or not, depending on the style of the shirt. Unusual patterns are acceptable as long as they are not exaggerated. However, the standard is still a plain shirt. If you need to dress more formally, you can choose a collared shirt; if you don't need to be too formal, you can choose a collarless shirt.

Shoes can try leather shoes, flat shoes, high heels and open toe shoes. But avoid slippers, sandals and sports shoes. As long as the high-heeled shoes are not too conspicuous. Let the whole business leisure dress up complete. Remember to pair it with dress socks or pantyhose, plus simple jewelry and bags for an elegant look.

Check the list below. If you're still not sure if your look will work, ask yourself the following questions. "Will I wear this to see my boyfriend's mother for the first time?" the answer should be "yes.".

"Will I wear this to go to the bar?" the answer should be "no".

"Will I sleep in this one?" the answer should be "no".

"Will I wear this to work in the yard?" the answer should be "no".

"Will I wear this to the masquerade ball?" the answer should be "no".

        3、 Understand company policy

Consult specific requirements. If you are not sure what the company's policy is, you can consult a representative of the human resources department. On your first day at work, if you don't have other colleagues as a reference, you should dress conservatively. Business casual wear is often used to describe the style of employees in the eyes of employers. The problem is that the specific requirements of each company are often different. For example, one company may want you to wear a formal dress, just don't need a suit jacket and tie, while another company may encourage you to wear khakis or jeans. When you are told to wear business casual wear, it's best to ask for specific requirements. You can ask your employer if there is an employee handbook that describes the company's business casual wear policy more clearly.

Watch your colleagues. Look around at how your other colleagues dress; it's a great yardstick for your employer's business casual wear.

Dress formally for the interview. If you are about to attend an interview and don't know how the interviewer wants you to dress, the standard plan is to wear a business suit. Remember, it's better to dress well than to be too simple.
